Joseph Boccio is a photographer and adventurer based out of New York. Over the past seven years, he has traveled extensively throughout the United States and beyond, exploring and documenting historical sites. Joseph first became intrigued by the abandoned back in 2019, originally recording videos of the abandoned campus at Kings Park Psychiatric Center. In 2020, while attending film school, Joseph published his first amateur documentary on the Kings Park Psychiatric Center and a second documentary on the neighboring Central Islip Psychiatric Center a year later. These two films covered the daily lives of former hospital employees, what has changed and what remains. Since then, Joseph has branched out to exploring and documenting various different sites in the United States and beyond.
